Interior Design Consultant

Bellissimo is looking for a full-time Interior Design Consultant to join our close-knit team. At Bellissimo, we are known for having Halifax’s best curated collection of designer fabrics, custom quality furniture, lighting, rugs, bedding, home décor, giftware and antiques. In addition to our beautifully curated collection of treasures, we also operate as a full service interior design centre, offering in home consultations, custom draperies, upholstery, sewing and hardware, and installations.  

As an Interior Design Consultant you will:

  • Ensure that our customers have a delightful and individually tailored experience, offering personalized friendly service;

  • Stay up to date as a product expert in designer fabrics, custom furniture, and industry trends;

  • Assist with the selection of fabrics, measurements, quoting, and follow up with our customers to close sales. This includes determining the quality, appropriateness, and quantity of fabric required for our customers’ projects;

  • Offer decorating advice when appropriate;

  • Assist our customers in custom consultations for selecting furniture;

  • Assist our customers in selecting lighting, antiques, rugs, bedding, gifts and home décor products;

  • Manage the sales process, including providing pricing, creating an invoice, placing and receiving orders and following up with our customers;

  • Ensure that our store is well merchandised, is on trend, and is well taken care of in order to provide an exceptional experience for our customers;  

The right fit for our team will have the following qualities and skills:

  • Experience with designer fabrics, sewing, and/or interior design/ decorating ; 

  • Exceptional customer service and sales skills, including previous retail experience;

  • Creativity and a passion for interior design and current trends;

  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  •  A professional and courteous demeanor and the ability to work with a variety of clients;

  • Ability to use a computerized POS system and the ability to order products online, as required

  • Excellent time management/project skills;

  • Comfortable and confident in making effective autonomous (and group) decisions in a timely manner

  • Goal orientated: ability to stay focused on creating winning results

  • Dedication to high levels of Customer Service and Sales Productivity

  • Must be able to work shift standing and walking

  • Must be able to pack, unpack and move stock when supporting receiving / stocking store functions.
